Amrutha D
I am Amrutha D, an M.Tech Highway Engineering graduate and Gold Medalist of the 2023–2025 batch. My two years at RASTA have been one of the most meaningful and memorable phases of my academic journey. When I look back, I realise that my experience at RASTA was not limited to academics—it gave me numerous opportunities to learn, explore, participate, and grow both personally and professionally in the field of Highway and Transportation Engineering. Throughout my M.Tech journey, I had the opportunity to be involved in multiple site visits, internships, technical workshops, and various academic activities. These experiences helped me understand the practical aspects of highway and transportation engineering and gave me valuable exposure to how classroom concepts are applied in real-world projects. One of the experiences I particularly enjoyed was being a Master of Ceremony for several workshops and technical programmes conducted by RASTA. Being part of these events gave me the opportunity to interact with professionals, experts, faculty, and students while also improving my communication, coordination, and leadership skills.... RASTA also encouraged me to explore beyond my core area of Highway and Transportation Engineering. Along with developing my technical knowledge, I got the opportunity to learn about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and understand their potential applications in the transportation and infrastructure sector. The guidance and encouragement from the faculty played a significant role throughout my journey. Their support motivated me to continuously learn, take up new challenges, and strive for excellence. The experiences, interactions, and friendships I gained along the way have made my time at RASTA truly special. Being awarded the Gold Medal for the 2023–2025 M.Tech batch is a moment I will always cherish. It represents not only academic achievement but also the dedication, learning, and support I received throughout these two years. Today, as I continue my professional journey as a Traffic Engineer at Arcadis, I am grateful for the strong foundation RASTA has provided me in the field of Highway and Transportation Engineering. The technical knowledge, practical exposure, communication skills, and confidence I gained here continue to guide me in my career. I sincerely thank the entire RASTA faculty, mentors, and team for giving me an environment where I could learn, explore my interests, take on responsibilities, and grow into a more confident professional. Dear RASTA family, I am Abhishek M K, M.Tech Highway Technology 2023-2025 batch, my two years of M.Tech at RASTA were an incredibly enriching and transformative journey, both academically and professionally. I had the opportunity to work on advanced tools and methodologies, which significantly enhanced my analytical and technical skills. The guidance and mentorship from esteemed faculty played a crucial role in shaping my approach toward problem-solving and research. Collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds further broadened my perspective and learning experience. The hands-on projects and field exposure helped bridge the gap between classroom concepts and industry practices. Dear RASTA Family, I am Sachin Gowda, an alumnus of the RASTA-Center of Road Technology, belonging to the 2016-2018 M.Tech batch (Highway Technology). As I reflect upon my journey, I am compelled to express my heartfelt gratitude for the transformative experience I gained during my time at RASTA. My two years at RASTA were nothing short of extraordinary, marked by a perfect blend of academic excellence and practical exposure. The faculty at RASTA, with their profound knowledge and expertise, not only imparted theoretical wisdom but also shared invaluable insights from their vast industry experience. This unique combination significantly enriched my learning experience and prepared me for the challenges in the real world. One of the highlights of my time at RASTA was the industrial training that provided me with extensive field exposure as a highway engineer. This hands-on experience proved to be instrumental in shaping my understanding of the intricacies of the industry. The practical knowledge gained during this period played a pivotal role in my subsequent journey. After completing my M.Tech, I had the opportunity to apply my learnings in the real world, and it is with immense pride that I share my success story. I successfully cleared the interview process at the prestigious Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) in Delhi, competing with scholars from various IITs and foreign universities. The comprehensive training and exposure at RASTA undoubtedly played a crucial role in my success. Currently, I am thriving in my role as a Scientist at CRRI, and I attribute a significant part of my achievements to the strong foundation laid at RASTA. The guidance and mentorship received from the faculty continue to resonate in my professional endeavors. Despite being miles away from Bengaluru, my connection with RASTA remains unwavering. I am actively involved in guiding students at various levels, sharing my experiences, and contributing to the growth of the next generation of road technology enthusiasts. This sense of community and continued engagement with RASTA is something I hold dear and plan to nurture in the years to come.
